Step 1 Download the installer
Go to the official QClaw site and download the correct build for your machine. No terminal required β it's a standard installer.
- Windows: Download the
.exeinstaller - Mac (Apple Silicon M1/M2/M3): Download the
arm64.dmg - Mac (Intel): Download the
x64.dmg
Not sure which Mac chip? Click the Apple logo β About This Mac. If it says "Apple M" you need the Apple Silicon build; if it says "Intel" grab the Intel build.
Step 2 Install and initialise
- Run the installer (on Mac: if blocked by Gatekeeper, go to System Settings β Privacy & Security β allow QClaw)
- On first launch, select Chinese as the display language
- Choose a local storage path for QClaw data
- Select an AI model β the bundled models (Kimi/DeepSeek) work out of the box during beta
- Initialisation is complete when the main interface appears
Step 3 Bind WeChat
This is the step that makes QClaw uniquely useful β once bound, you can control your desktop from anywhere via WeChat.
- In QClaw, go to Settings β WeChat Integration
- A QR code appears β scan it with your phone's WeChat app
- Confirm the binding in WeChat when prompted
- The status should change to "Connected"
Step 4 Send your first command
In WeChat, send QClaw one of these to verify everything works:
- "What's the weather in Beijing today?" β tests basic response
- "Create a folder called Test on my desktop" β tests file system access
- "What can you do?" β gets a capability overview
No response? Check that QClaw is still running (look for it in the system tray), and that the WeChat binding still shows "Connected". See the FAQ for common fixes.
